Permanent Disability is a measure of disability that still exists after you have reached Maximum Medical Improvement. For all injuries after 1/1/05 and some before, this disability is dictated by the AMA Guides 5th Edition. The amount of compensation will depend on the date of injury, level of disability and for some dates of injury, whether or not the employer has made an offer of modified or alternate work.
